CALL TO PRAYER AND FASTING

THE COUNCIL OF CHURCHES IN SIERRA LEONE IS CALLING FOR THREE DAYS OF SPECIAL PRAYER AND FASTING FOR OUR NATION, SIERRA LEONE, BY HEADS OF CHURCHES AND THEIR MEMBERSHIP, ON MONDAY 24, Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th April 2023.

WE REQUEST OUR HEADS OF CHURCHES TO ENCOURAGE MEMBERS OF THEIR VARIOUS CONGREGATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE VERY NEEDFUL EXERCISE TO PRAY FOR THE PEACE OF OUR NATION AS TENSION CONTINUES TO RISE AHEAD OF THE FORTH COMING ELECTIONS.

WE REMEMBER WHAT IT WAS LIKE DURING OUR 11 YEARS CIVIL WAR. LET US PRAY THAT WE DO NOT RETURN TO THAT SCENERIO.

“IF MY PEOPLE, WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME, SHALL HUMBLE THEMSELVES AND PRAY, AND SEEK MY FACE, AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS; THEN WILL I HESR FROM HEAVEN, AND WILL FORGIVE THEIR SIN AND WILL HEAL THEIR LAND.” (II Chron 7.14)

We shall in our reflection on the three days revisit the Truth and Reconciliation Report in the light of present happenings in our nation.

We are also offering collaborative support to the Intercessors for Sierra Leone in the Jesus Dominion March on Independence Day, 27th March 2023. The March presents us an opportunity to celebrate our 62nd Independence Anniversary and to also rise up to exalt the name of Jesus over the throne of our nation and over every aspect of life in the land.

This year’s match will be very significant and strategic, since our general multitier elections is round the corner, thus the need for the church to come together to seek the face of God Almighty for the success of the elections.
